Today is filming day and I am doing this blog before the cast arrives; what I have done already is set up all the places where the scene will take place, and bought all the food that I do not know if it is also considered as prop but I need it for the environment of the party; I bought bread and sausages for hot dogs, chips, and sodas since I am basically throwing a party since the scene is a party, I am intrigued on how this will turn out.
There has been already some difficulties, many people have claimed that they will not be able to go, so I've had to add more people and some of them can and some can't but I still have a fair number of people so we are good. I told the girls of the cast that they should arrive at 6:30pm s
o they could dress up and fix their hair, and the boys can arrive at 7:00pm since they will not use makeup.
As I was saying... I set up my living room and my bedroom since these will be the places where the scene will take place. SO, I first started setting up the living room since it is the hardest; I removed all furniture, decorations and only left and added hat was key to the Venezuelan culture, which was the catholic statues and art works of things from Venezuela or tropical scenes. Then I set the dance floor, which is set up almost as a puzzle. (By the way I did this with the help of my parents) Then I placed both tables and dressed them with the table cloth, and lastly putted some ballons to give the environment that it is a party but it is not highly decorative nor much effort was putted into it since my mom told me that her birthday parties in her teeenage life had decorations but not much effort was put into it. (Also the ballons are pink and yellow to keep the latino style because for some reason it looks humble, and matches with the table cloth).

After
So this was the set up for the party scene and now my bedroom. My bedroom has too much decoration so I had to remove everything that was going to appear on the shots and had to also change my bed cover to a more simple one and actually took the oldest that I had, which was gender neutral and it is not too big since in Venezuela not much houses have an A/C so one should use a light bed cover. Also I had to take old pictures of my dad in his 20's when he used to go to the beach and surf. I took those pictures since they will give an environment of bedroom decoration of teenage boy. Also I took the rubix cube that my cousins left at my house, to put on the table next to the bed and also placed other things such as a wallet and a watch that is a looks like a calculator which is actually from the 80s. I also placed some cassettes and some small statues from Margarita which is the island from Venezuela since most Venezuelans go to the island and may have stuff they bought on their trip.
Lastly, I placed a vinyl dics that had in the cover I pretty girl, next to a rosary, since it is part of the latino culture to be "machistas" even though they are catholics and "respect women", this will set the idea of what are Juan's ideals and precepts when it comes to women. There are also some other details, and they were mostly gotten from my dad, but they all are from the 80's or existed in 80's.
While I was preparing my room, my dad set all the lights for the scene, I am really thankful for all his help :) hoping for the best during the filming!!!!!!!! bye bye
