Hello everybody, and no I am not telling you how I am doing on the
editing of this baby.
I have made a couple of
decisions regarding on how I am editing the video; such as doing a sound bridge
at the beginning of the scene by first starting of the noise of the party which
is occurring on the living room and then Juan appears as he wakes up (meaning
that by starting in such manner, it would give the audience the feeling as if
we are in Juan's shoes). In the scene as it would occur many times on the film,
we will be able to perceive the circumstances according to Juan's perspective
meaning that once in a while it may be altered into a more imaginative
perspective, away from what is truly occurring (like the fact of Ana Sofia and
Juan dancing, when actually Juan has not approached Ana yet to ask her to
dance).
It has also been decided that
after Juan approaches Ana, a thought of her feeling uncomfortable will be
shared breaking the fourth wall, since it will work as her consciousness, what
she will tell herself. I consider that the way in which both character's will
communicate their perspectives both Juan by altering the reality and Ana by
sharing her thoughts and comments and what is occurring, it would bring a more
creative and broader perspective on how memories could be manipulated, and how
one may communicate with oneself since I remember from the class of
Developmental Psychology that I took during summer; that one's memories are
always altered on things we decided to make an emphasis on, or they could be
completely altered from what truly happened. This mostly happens in childhood
memories, but so it happens when one is misunderstanding a situation such as
jumping into conclusions (it has happened to me a lot, and this week I got to
see how many times I assumed something from what a friend said, and it meant
the opposite since I decided to focus on only one aspect, and completely
ignored what made the sentence or the intention different; I don't know but
this occurs a lot when one is texting but so it happens in everyday life
conversations and interactions).
So yeah I have decided I have
decided to represent such perspectives of both protagonists in this manner, and
now that I am thinking about it, I would like to make clear that I am not
conveying that I consider boys to be more superficial or uncapable of understanding
the social situations, but honestly the reason why I have decided to represent
both perspectives in this way, it is due to the fact that from my experience, I
have only been in the shoes on how to manage relationships from the perspective
of the feminine gender, meaning that in Ana Sofia's perspective it made with
more depth and reality, since it is more accurate to what I have experienced.
Juan's perspective would be more of fantasy since I wanted to also demonstrate
how Ana Sofia's maturity on relationships would contrast from Juan,
exaggerating his perspective of the love made up of pure fantasy, giving comedy
to the film. This would not be with the intention of following stereotypes or
giving label that men have a more basic criteria when looking for love, but
this fantasies perspective could also be relevant to any gender since it is
common to blindly fall in love with someone idolizing them, what would mostly
occur in the first experiences with relationships. SO, I am not intending to
give any label nor underestimate young boy in love, I just want to make a point
of how love could be visualized different according to the maturity of the individual.
